You may have to use your stock yoke to make it work, but it is worth it. I called in to the tech guys at LMR a few times to make sure mine fit back when I ordered mine. I ordered a 28 spline for my 1986 GT and a 31 spline for my 1997 Cobra. Wish I had done it years ago. Vibrations were completely gone and the exceleration is very pleasantly surprising. Not sure if is more noticeable with a V8 or a V6 but it should still be worth the trouble either way even if you have to swap the yoke. Remember to call in.
