I want to buy these before my handles break, but I've read several reviews about how they don't sit flush like the originals. Is that due to installation error, or are they different than the original?

these are a match of the exact same ones that Ford makes, the only difference is that the factory ones are plastic and these are metal, but they fit the same way and they sit flush on my doors, in my opinion the only difference is the material and in this case it is Metal so it should last far longer than the plastic units, hope this helps. - Joe last year

I have used theses many times in restoration projects. I have never had any issues with fitment. The only time Ive seen any issue is were the door sheet metal had been pulled out from jerking the old broken handle and had to be punched back in shape. Great handles. - danny last year

Hey Brandon, I put these on my 1990 7-up Pony and had no issues with the flush like the original. Ford made the original ones in some kind of hardened plastics. In the AZ sun they didn't hold up too long. These are OEM to the Ford's original and install very easily. If you have the riveter for these size rivets, you can go with the included rivets they come with. I used the original nut and bolts on mine as the riveter was an option, but as I began I noticed it scratching the handle so I went old school. These are worth the money though and LRS will do you right. Hope this helps you.

danny is correct, these handles and hardware are of excellent fitment and superb quality, that's why I keep coming back to late model restoration, well among other reasons.

I just looked at mine and don't really see much of a difference. While they aren't exactly flush (just a couple of millimeters from it), they look good. I didn't have the rivet gun so I used bolts with a nut and lock washer. Besides, I'll give up the flushness for not having to change them anytime soon.
