Mass air conversion problems

I ordered this as well as economy fender cold air intake. Disconnected battery and followed instructions to a "T". Also ordered Pro-M mass air meter (75). First of all, cold air fits poorly. It's about an inch off when trying to attach at throttle body following video instructions from your site. So everything is cramped together tight, not lining up well. My car is 88 gt convertible. have A9l rebuilt ecm. After checking everything 3 times, car will turn over but not start. I removed vacuum from map sensor and sealed off manifold vacuum before trying to start. It smells like it is not getting gas???? I put old speed density ecm back in and reconnected map sensor and moved ecm wires back to original positions. It still won't start!!! After several attempts. smells like no gas getting to injectors??? Please help.

Thanks. It's getting fuel to cylinders. I hear fuel pump coming on when I turn ignition. Took plug out ,plenty of gas. No spark!

And if so your timing is off - Gethsemane last year
