Binding cable?

The speedo on my lx is jumping from 0-140+ constantly as soon as I hit about 40..judging by the forums I read it should just be a binding cable..just want a second opinion

If it is the cable binding, you will typically hear it making a chirping noise. If no noise is present, I'd inspect the gear on the end of the cable, and also ensure the gauge is functioning properly. I had a similar issue on a 91 years ago and it turned out to be the speedometer itself.

The speedo completely quit now..sometimes it will back itself down to 0 again if I reverse my car but it doesn't take long and it's right back to where it was..does that sound more like the speedo itself? - Pakstin last year

That is unfortunately sounding more and more like the speedometer. I'd take the cable loose and see if it spins, and look at the gear on the end first though before hunting for a speedometer just to make sure.

Now it's kind of working off and on again..sometimes it will even give me an accurate reading..but then it's back to jumping all over the place - Pakstin last year
