Asking About: Mustang 5.0L 302 Short Block Accepts Roller Cam (79-95)

Manufacturer of the new parts?

Who is the manufacturer of the new parts in these engines? I may have overlooked, but I would like to know what pistons, bearings and seals have been used.

Accepted Answer
The rear main seal is Federal Mogul, The pistons are either Keith Black or Sealed Power, the rings are Sealed Power, cam/crank/rod bearings are either Clevite or Sealed Power.

Thanks, J-Mac!!! I'd hate to start another question for the forged 302, but out of curiosity, is the answer much of the same? Since Ford appears to have discontinued the reman 306 with GT40's, this is looking to be the next best bet for me. If you have any additional feedback with what to do for the fox, please chime in. I'm targeting the 350hp range, so the Trickflow top end kit may be right up my alley with either this or the forged short block.

Thanks again!!!

Yes sir, same parts, except the pistons will always be Sealed Power in the forged unit. For your target power range, take a look at the stage 2 TFS top end kits. - Jonathan 4 years ago
