Asking About: Mustang 28oz Harmonic Balancer 5.0 5.8

I am doing a 351w swap on my 95 Mustang GT. I would like to retain the stock serpentine belt set up. I have 2 questions: 1) Will I need a spacer with this balancer? If so, which one? 2) If I get a spacer will I then need longer bolts? If so, which ones? Thank you!

Hey Joseph, since this is a stock replacement style harmonic balancer for 1979 5.0L or 1979-1995 5.8L swap Mustangs using the serpentine belt setup, there is no spacer or special bolts needed .

Depending on the RPM that the motor will be seeing, you could also upgrade to a more reliable and heavier duty harmonic balancer.

Thank you for the answer Bryan. The motor will only be seeing the RPMs which a typical stockish 5.0L will see (i.e., shifting around 5500). I am actually advancing the E303 cam by 2 degrees for more torque down low. Does that RPM range sound good for this part? - Joseph 2 years ago

yep that will work just fine. That will be a great street motor.
