I have an 88 fox and I want to put 18's on it, it has 17x9 on it now with 245-45's and its tuckin a quarter inch tire in the front if I did the 18's with a 235x40 or 235x35 would it even be close to clearing?

The 235/40/r18 would be a over all shorter tire, but at the same time may be a little narrow for the 9" wheel - Eddy 2 years ago

Killian, To run 18's on a fox you need to have 94-04 front spindles for the wheels to clear the hub. As far as tires go you can run up to a 255/35/18 and clear the fender arch. There may be some contact with the fender extension in front of the tire when turning on an 88 Fox Mustang. If you are considering a 18X9 front wheel the smallest tire i would consider would be a 245/40/18 but the 255 would be a better choice. For a 9 inch wide wheel you need a minimum of 245 section width.

As it sits now with a 245-45-17 the fender is right on the tire would I have to raise the car a little bit or can I run negative camber? I'm just scared I'm gonna buy the wheels and then have to buy all new springs to make them clear. I can put poly isolators on it and raise it about half an inch but that may not be enough - Killian 2 years ago

Will the 18's fit on the rear with drums? - Killian 2 years ago

Killian, Given your comments on the car's current ride height, you may have to change springs and or add poly isolators to gain the tire to fenderlip clearance you will need.

Killian, The 18" wheels do fit on the rear when using the 5 lug rear drums.
