Will this work well with twisted wedge heads ? And what size cam would work with those heads on that motor for clearance

Aaron, You can use the Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads with this Ford Racing Short Block but a better choice for an engine of this displacement would be the AFR 185's. With this many cubic inches you need a cylinder head with more flowing capacity than that of the Twisted Wedge. As far as camshaft selection, I would need to know more about your intended use of the car, tire size, gear ratio, transmission, etc...to make a good recommendation on that. In any case I would highly recommend the piston to valve clearance be checked when assembling the heads, cam etc..as this short block has much closer tolerances with regard to the deck height and piston to valve clearance than a production 5.0.

Tommy : I appreciate the advice. Also I forgot to mention my heads where stage two posted and reworked by fox lake they flow good . Should I still use a different head - aaron 2 years ago

Aaron,Not necessarily.Since you already have Twisted Wedge Heads that have been reworked than I would use those and still follow the same procedure on checking clearances etc... The TFS heads are a great design and should work well.

Thank you I appreciate it. I just wasn't sure if the valve reliefs would be okay for clearance on the trick flows since the valves open a little different the reliefs are normally cut different - aaron 2 years ago

That is why I suggest you check the piston to valve clearance to ensure you do not have any interference issues.

Actually even the AFR 185 is too small of a head for a 363. If you want the most power you squeeze out of it we always recommend AFR 205 heads at AMP Performance.

They are alright but AFR's are the best heads on the market for sbf!

Rite now I'm running stock block. v3. Vortech. And a trick flow plate nitrous kit . Box r trick flow intake . Fox lake stage 2 ported trick flow heads e cam . I'd like to use the 363 and swap all the other stuff over . But it sounds like I definitely need heads to do that - aaron 2 years ago

Sounds similar to the setup on my personal fox. I'm running a 347 with a v3 and making 520 rwhp and 530rwtq. But yeah switching it over to the 363 will be good for you. But yes a good set of heads is definitely worth every penny. Especially for what your trying to do and your build.
