I don't see the need for your average stock or not crazy modified car to require anything as low as 160. Stock is 195 and I think the 180 is a nice fit and helps keep the motor cool. However, if it's a daily driver in the cold winter states, the heat will be less hot with the lower temp t-stat. That in mind, I believe the 160* is what some use in the really hot states like down in the SW states. Once again, the non-cold winters don't play a part.
