I have an 88 fox 5.0 HO I recently redid the entire exhaust including Mac long tubes bbk x pipe magnaflow 5" round 3" inlet/outlet and flowmaster 3" tips. I have had numerous problems with the Mac long tubes and after doing some research turns out that long tubes warp after a short amount of time and just don't fit is this true? If so should I just switch my mac's to bbk's or should I go with shorties and a new x pipe? Also I read that shorties give it a better sound is this true?

Switching back to shorties could cause some HP loss, and since you have the BBK X-pipe already, a simple solution would be to swap to the BBK long tubes. They are great quality, and unlike the MAC long tubes, they have a solid, die stamped flange which won't warp like the individual flanges tend to.
