Why the master in the kit ?

I have a 1990 Annv 7up Lx 5.0 , Would like to do the conversion just to make the car safer. Why is there a master cylinder included? Is it because the stock one can't handle the load of rear discs? Just curious .. Scott

The 87+ master cylinder has a smaller output capacity that the 86 prior cast iron style did, so SSBC includes it with the kit to ensure there is no spongy pedal.
