Community Q&A Question: Adapter plate for T5 use

Asking About: Mustang T-5 Bellhousing Adapter Plate (83-93)

Adapter plate for T5 use

I would like to purchase the adapter plate to mount a 97 V6 mustang T5 into my 93 Cobra, I would like to know how far back am I to expect the shifter to go and will I be able to use my stock drive shaft or will I need to shorten it? I don't have a 5.0 T-5 input shaft to switch out nor do I have the 97 4.6 bell housing.

Accepted Answer
Using this plate in a fox application with a 94-07 T-5 will shift the transmission 18mm back farther that a normal fox t-5 application. You should not have to shorten the drive-shaft as the 79-04 T-5 applications use the same length drive-shaft.
