Will this fit my 98 mustang with a V6. I purchased this brace from AM and it did not fit. It rest on the top of the engine and will not fit without major modifications. AM did nothing to fix the situation and i'm not very happy about that. So, I ask, will this fit a 98 V6 without any mods? Also, I'm needing the exhaust. A dual exhaust. I'v got the muffler, Just need the exhaust pipes. Then I'll need the lowering springs. What can you help me with? Thank you Mike
I believe the one they are selling is not the same brand as this one. BBK confirms this will fit a v6 just fine and we have lots of folks running it with no issues. If something is unique with your car and it will not work, we will take it back for a full refund.
BBK engineered these to clear the factory v6 manifold. It almost sounds like you received the incorrect part from them as I have not encountered fitment issues with these on the v6 application. If you purchase it to find it does not clear, we will take it back no problem.
On the exhaust, what type of muffler did you get? There are a few different options for the V6, and I'll need to know which you purchased to guide you on tailpipes.
For a V6, the popular option on springs is part number EIB-3518. These will give you an appropriate drop with the weight of the v6, and remain very comfortable for daily driving as they are a progressive rate spring.
The tower brace that I received goes across the top of the engine and that is where is touches the manifold. And because of that the ends are not able to be bolted down. I noticed that on their site photos there is only one V6 and the tower brace in the photo is not the one on their site. You can see that the photo of that brace goes around the front of the engine. On the exhaust I've got Thrush mufflers and want to put in a true dual exhaust. But I want to put in the tower brace before I lower my stang. So, will this tower brace fit as listed? Just want to make sure before I spend another $100 or more.
