Speedometer gear - Bouncing after 80 mph

I was wondering if changing this gear will help with my speedometer bouncing after 80mph. It does not malfunction until after that speed. What would other likely causes of this be?

Thanks,
Matt

The gear typically does not cause a bouncy needle. A tired or dry cable will typically cause this, or a defective gauge.

Thanks. Strange that it happens at the exact same speed every time. What grease would I use to lubricate the cable? Do you all sell? - Matthew last year

While we don't offer it, your local autoparts store will. They will carry an oil specific for speedometer cables typically at the checkout counter.
