neutral sensing/gear switch

I can't find the ngs/nss for a standard trans anywhere. All anyone has is the aod nss. Can I use this sensor in a standard trans and just wire up the two wires for the neutral safety part of it? Or must it be a ngs since that has a rod that goes into the transmission?

We have not been able to find a source for the switch you are referring too. This automatic one will not work in place of the Manual switch you are looking for. Unfortunately the only place I know to get one is a used one out of an existing transmission.

Alright, thank you. Do you know if I could run without this sensor? Or do I definitly need it? - Adrian last year

You can run fine with it not plugged in. This sensor is basically used to tell your computer to drop the engine idle when you are in neutral. People run with them un-plugged all the time. - Scott last year

Alright, so without a sensor, will my idle be negatively affected by it? Or will it just not drop like it should? - Adrian last year

It just won't drop as quick as it normally would but the difference won't be very noticeable. so in other words the rpm's won't 'hang" for 10 seconds but it will take an extra 1 or 2 for it to drop to normal idle. - Scott last year

Alright. Thank you very much for the help. I appreciate it. - Adrian last year
