Eric Griggs - 19980 Ford Mustang LX
I've got a 1990 LX coupe that I picked up as my first mustang. It's a Canadian model 5.0 with a 5spd. When I got the car all it had was a drop in K&N filter and a set of flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers. Since I've owned it it's gone through a couple of stages. The car currently has the original 5.0 block with 147,000 miles on it. Motor mods are just a BBK short ram intake with K&N 70mm maf, 70mm throttle body. Full exhaust with FRPP shorty headers offroad h pipe through Borla XS mufflers through LRS LX 2.5 stainless tailpipes. The 8.8 with 2.73's were ditched for 3.55's. Subframe connector's and Saleen lowering springs were installed to help in the stance department. I completed a 5 lug conversion with anniversary front caliper's and topped the install off with 99 chrome Cobra wheels wrapped in Nitto NT555 rubber. Upcoming plans are sending the car to SVOC and at the hands of Jeff Harris, a set of Gt40's with 1.7 RR's an e303 cam, Gt40 upper and lower intake, along with BBK 1 3/4 longtubes with matching hpipe. I've picked up a LX front clip to replace the GT front clip the previous owner put on, then it's off to paint.
The car has been to the track a couple times @ Temple Academy. With my experience being just limited to there I think the car would do better at a more prepared track. Fastest time is a 14.3 @ 97 mph. The car has been dynoed at Maximum Velocity and put down 230 hp and 290 ft lbs of torque. That's pretty much it. I've worked really hard, and have had the help of some very special friends to get the car to where it is now, and hope ya'll can appreciate it just as much as I do. This car is my daily driver, and it puts a big ol'grin on my face every morning
