Suzanne Hickerson - 1988 Ford Gt 5.0 Mustang
My husband bought this Mustang new, right off the delivery truck. He was in the army, was out one day, seen it as he drove by, turned around and bought it, because it was a T top. Now almost 24 years later, he gave it to me for my birthday, and I started showing it at local car shows in the area. The car sat, in the weeds here for nearly 8 years, not being drove at all. The tires rotted off, and it was sitting on rims. We had it painted, put new wheels and tires and a new battery in it. My husband had a stroke, and also has cancer, so being retired and staying at home, he has shinned up the engine for me, replaced afew things, and has made it so beautifull. The interior is original, and looks great. We put a new radio in and new white face instrutment panel and new bezel lense. I have won best Mustang several times, and also have many, many trophies that we display in our living room. During the late spring, summer and early fall, I spend every weekend shinning and showing my beautifull Mustang. Got personized tags,:88 T-Top:. Engine is original 302. This car is very rare. You can't find a 88 T-Top hardly anywhere. I have never seen one at any of the car shows I have attended. Lots, the same color, and fox body, but no T-Tops. Low milage, apx 87,000. Thats just a rough guess. My memory isn't the greatest. Haven't driven it at all since the last car show, back in Sept. I put a new catback exhaust on it and she purrs. Car is so stiff, it feels like a race car, but drives like a dream. Of course, its a 5.0, 5 speed.
My husband put a cold air induction system on it, which gave it more horsepower. He hand make a beautifull solid brass battery cover, which looks so great. My husband is very sick at this time. His dream was to finish pimping the car up for me before he dies. Christmas this year was sad, because he could not eat. He only wanted some mashed potatoes and gravy, but was unable to swallow that. I go to the car shows, take pictures of all the cars, and then he can look at them on the computor. He loves this car. I hope that we beat the odds, and he lives to see me get many more awards.
