Will Mangual - 2001 Ford Mustang GT
I am active duty in the Marine Corps so this is my daily driver and has been a long project in the making.
Swapped in an 04 Cobra Motor with an upgraded 2.3L Whipple Charger, Kooks 1-7/8" Long Tubes, Fore Precision fuel system and twin Ford GT fuel pumps, Metco Pulley assembly, topped with Acufab throttle body and JLT Cold Air. Along with the motor, I threw in a T56 with upgraded output shaft to 26 splines and a Centerforce DFX clutch. Out back I rebuilt the ford 8.8 with 31 spline axles and Ford Racing 3.73 gears care of motive rebuild kit.
Borla exhaust for some sweet tunes.
The motor wouldnt clear the stock GT hood so I had to use a cowl induction.
Exterior is kept to a tasteful minimum. 18X9 Front and 18X10 Bullet Deep dish rims wrapped in BFG KDW2 rubber. Cobra brakes upgraded in all four corners. Mach 1 chin with Mach 1 grill delete. Smoked headlights with HID conversion.
The stance is care of a Maximum Motorsports, there isnt one thing left suspension that is stock. The front K Member is a UPR Tubular piece with coil overs in the front.
I am after the slightly modded GT sleeper look and think Ive got it. Most think my car is just a GT with exhaust, rims and a hood. Until its too late.
The interior is stock except the Simco Guage cluster. All black leather interior and I love it.
I love this car, I bought it Dec 15th 2005 right before I left for Marine bootcamp, it had 25K miles on it. When the motor swap happened it only had 70K on it, still a young pup.
The best time I had in this car was during my trip across country, I was on the I40 heading west when an overly priced Corvette rolled up next to me. My car is literally loaded to the roof, I could barely see out of the rear window, had been driving for hours and decided What the hell...
Dropped to 4th and eased into it, well the Vette heard the change of tune and gunned it. It was fair for all about 2 seconds. The look on this guys face, driving his dads expensive car when my $12K car making 590hp and 540tq at the wheels on 18psi just left him as if he was at a dead stop. That look was priceless and I will never forget it.
