Kenneth Finley - 1993 Ford Mustang LX Convertable
I purchased the Mustang in 1996. It has the original 5.0 motor, mated to the Cobra R 5-speed transmission I got from Late Model Restoration. It was totaled three years ago and I bought it back as salvage. Late Model Restoration was the source for the new Cervini Stormin' Norman 2.5 inch rise Ram-Air hood, front bumper, lights, and fender and all the other parts required to restore the car. I rebuilt the car myself. It has an oversized radiator, American Thunder Flowmaster dual exhaust with dual catalytic converters and premium Bosch sensors, the SVT suspension, aluminum driveshaft, BBK cold air induction, 75 mm mass air, 65 mm throttle body and EGR spacer. It also has a 50-watt HAM transmitter. 240,000 original miles.
Funny story - right after I finished rebuilding the car and getting it painted, it was stolen. I was living in an apartment in Dallas at the time. The insurance company hadn't approved the restoration yet so there was no coverage on the car. Two days later, on a Saturday morning, I was taking our Dachshund/Blue Heeler mix dog for a walk when he decided he needed to take a detour. I tried to get him to follow our usual route, but he dug his little claws into the sidewalk and kept pulling the leash in a different direction. I followed him down a side street, into an alley, and there, parked in a carport was my missing car. He led me right to it. When I reported the find, I told the police that the dog found it. The first thing the investigating officer said when he arrived was "Where's the dog?"
