Alexander Geissler - 1988 Ford Mustang GT
I bought the car in the late 1990's. It had a broken clutch and broken shift fork due to wrong installation. Fixed all that and got the car running. I had the car painted in 2002 in Viper GTS blue pearl metallic. The story behind this color is, that my wife loves the 1996 Viper GTS , so I said lets paint the car like this. It came out real nice and its cheaper then a Viper :-). Over the year I drove the car and fixed issues as they happend. Went through a couple transmissions...they were all used.....I learned my lessons !! Drove the car to a couple car shows in Germany, got some trophys with it. In 2003 I moved to New Mexico as a member of the German department of defense for a 5 year tour of duty. I finally could drive the car everyday, I got very expensive in Germany with taxes almost 600 Euro a year plus insurance !! First I installed in New Mexico was a AC system, since the car did not came with AC. Got one at Ebay and put it in...still works. More upgrades happend, like the Cervinis Hood and stalker nose, also edelbrock intake system, 24 lbs. inj., E-Cam, Mass Air conversion, 3.73 gears, aluminum driveshaft, new carpet....... In 2008 I moved back to Germany. Now car was parked in Garage for the next five years. Taxes went up to 1200 Euro a year because of Emissions Regulations !!! Once in a while I got a temporary license plate to move it and prevent the car to brake from just sitting around. I got lucky and moved back to New Mexico in 2013 for another tour of duty. Still had the car and moved it with me. Now having a nice daily driver again and continuing upgrades and improvements. It still gets the looks and thump ups, there are not many Foxbodys on the streets here. Having a car with a standard transmission, gives me the opportunity to teach my son driving right now..and I can feel his smiles and excitement everytime we go for driving lessons. I'm glad I kept the car.....although it did gave some headaches and more silver on my head :-).
