Dennis Wadas - 1990 Ford Ultra Blue Mustang GT Convertible
I bought this car for $500!!! The previous owner had an engine compartment fire then parked it in his garage for years to fix it some day. Sadly he passed away before he got the chance to start the project. Every piece of plastic, rubber, wiring, and even aluminum in the engine compartment and wheel wells were melted and gone. The dash harness was cut at the firewall so the dash had to come out to replace the wiring harness with a used piece. I rebuilt the motor in my garage back to stock specs and installed the trick flow upper end kit (heads, cam, intake). There was no way I was keeping the Automatic Trans in this car so I swapped in a new T5 manual trans with a King Cobra clutch. Since I needed a new drive shaft I put in a Ford Racing aluminum shaft. The car already had 3.73s, and a 5 lug conversion, so I picked up some 2004 GT rims and tires for it. 98% of everything was purchased right here from Latemodel. Craigslist and eBay helped out with 1990 specific parts like the wiring harnesses and wheel wells. This car is so much fun to drive! It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it! I am so glad this one didn't get parted out like so many other Foxes out there! To me, it's just beautiful.
As I said above, the original original owner has passed away. His wife held on to this car for several years after her husband died because this car was his baby and she couldn't let it go. She actually sold it to someone and that person sold it to me. I'm sure she thinks this car is long gone as it probably been close to 10 years since she has seen it. I am planning to drive it over to her house to show her that her husbands car is back on the road again and looking better than ever!
