This is a cold air adapter kit for non mass air model 1986-1988 Mustangs. BBK designed this kit to work with the mass air model cold air kit in order to adapt it to older Mustangs that did not have mass air meters. The tube simply goes in the place where an original mass air meter would go with no other modifications needed.
