BBK 190 Lph Fuel Pump
This is a 190 LHP fuel pump for your 1986-97 Mustang. BBK's fuel pumps are designed to be a direct fit replacement for your Mustang's original fuel pump. This is an "in-tank" design pump just like the factory Mustang pump and offers increased fuel flow for performance applications.
Due to the dielectric properties of Alcohol fuel like E85, fuel pump service life may be significantly reduced and filter
maintenance significantly increased.
- Fits 1986-1997 Ford Mustang
- Does NOT fit 1996-1997 Mustang Cobra

This is a good quality pump to replace your dying original. But, a couple learning points for me left me with a stand-in pump done by a local mechanic til I get time to re-do the install of this pump. The stand-in pump is noisy but works for now.
1. The filter sock must be secure as the last step. Yank on it like you're trying to remove it to test that you got it on. I had apparently babied it and it must have popped off during the twisty install in the tank. Mechanic roasted me on that.
2. The 2 rubber hoses should be replaced and seated "all the way down the port til flush". I also babied this and tightened the clamp without the flange far enough into the hose. It will obviously pop off without the clamp secure below the flange. Roasted for that too.
So my pump is fine, I just installed it poorly!
Bonus: really observe your original wiring as it comes out of the tank so you can get the new wires hooked to right ones that are not necessarily color matched.
