    1 Stars   Poor fitment
    By on 1/23/2017
I bought these headers and used a Team Z k-member. As per Kooks, Team-Z kmember is supposed to be a perfect fit. The headers hit the kmember engine mounting plates and one of the control arm mounting mount bolt heads. Contacted Kooks about the fitment issues and they asked for pictures. Kooks never bothered to reply so I had to cut/weld them to make them fit.
    I would recommend another brand.

First, super fast shipping and service, again, by LMR. This is by far my favorite Mustang shop for the big box items.

I have put the headers on the motor, and they fit great, but they are not without their flaws. So again, they fit awesome and don't look like there will be any clearance issues like the cheaper competitors occasionally have. For $1060 I was a bit disappointed in the quality and finish.

First, the primaries are mandrel bent, and all stainless. They do look pretty rough -- the tubes are pretty marked up where the bender clamped on to the tube. In addition to that, the stainless is real rough in some places, and smooth in others -- seems to be a lower quality metal. The engine is so big you won't hardly see the headers anyways -- but regardless, a bit disappointing for the price.

One other thing -- and this is an an FYI, not a Kooks issue -- the O2 sensor bungs will need to be moved. This is an issue with all of companies who make long tube Coyote headers, and may be more of a clearance thing. The O2s go in directly from the side at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock -- if you run E85 or do a lot of city or short drives, this WILL kill the sensors as condensation will run back into the ceramic tip. The bungs should be relocated between 11 o'clock and 1'oclock after checking clearance.

All in all, nice headers that needs some finishing to look super nice.

Yes, I would recommend this item to a friend!
