Foxbody Mustang Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit
Increase exhaust flow for more horsepower and torque with this 1979-1985 Mustang 5.0 dual exhaust conversion kit! This kit contains an SVE off-road x-pipe, BBK shorty headers, exhaust hangers, tail pipe hangers, brackets, mid-pipe hanger, and all of the needed hardware to get it installed.

SVE Off-Road X-Pipe
This SVE direct replacement x-pipe features 2.5” diameter aluminized tubing for maximum flow and horsepower. This SVE x-pipe is a modular 3-piece design for an easy bolt-on installation. Featuring original O2 sensor locations as well as die-stamped flanges which ensures a perfect fit. It also comes with the air tube provision pre-installed! This SVE x-pipe offers the classic raspy sound that the x-crossover is known for.

BBK Shorty Headers
Included in this conversion kit is a set of 1 5/8" shorty headers from BBK that will help your 1979-1985 5.0L Mustang produce an extra 8 to 15 horsepower. Constructed from high quality mandrel-bent steel tubing with 3/8" thick, die-stamped flanges. These Mustang unequal length shorty headers have a bright chrome finish that will look great in your engine bay. These Mustang shorty headers come complete with header bolts, studs, and a fresh pair of gaskets. No welding or cutting, these headers are a direct bolt on to your 5.0L!

Exhaust Hanger Kit
The vital piece to make this conversion work is the exhaust hanger kit. Featuring (2) muffler hangers & brackets, (2) tail pipe hangers, (2) tailpipe brackets, and a mid-pipe hanger, you can replace all of your damaged, rusted, or missing components quickly and easily. This mid-pipe hanger is the bracket that fastens between the transmission tail shaft and the transmission mount to give the mid-pipe something to attach to. This hanger originally came on all 1986-93 5.0L Mustangs with manual transmissions and is a must when converting to dual exhaust.

Ford Racing Adjustable Transmission Crossmember
This Ford Racing (FRPP) M-5059-A adjustable transmission crossmember is a "double hump" design that simplifies installation of dual exhaust conversions on 1982-1985 Mustangs. The outer tubes are not welded to the center support, and thus can be adjusted to fit most engine/transmission combinations and is suitable for Tremec TKO swaps. It fits all fox vehicles with a 4.5" space between the crossmember mounting brackets, like 1982-1993 Mustang. 1979-1981 Mustangs with a 2.75" mounting space will need to relocate their brackets.

-SVE OFF ROAD mid-pipes do not have catalytic converters. This dual exhaust conversion kit is designed ONLY for OFF ROAD use and is intended for RACE USE ONLY.
-This high performance x-pipe is NOT EPA street legal in any state.

- O2 sensor bungs are included for carborated 5.0L engines. Fuel injected 5.0L will not use supplied plugs.

Just finished the install and the road test was unbelievable. My 1984 Mercury Capri with its original 302 V8 engine just got a new Holley 4160 carb, this conversion kit, and the Flowmaster American Thunder cat back system. The performance gains and the sound were just out of this world. I don't think the car had this kind of throttle response when I drove it off the showroom floor 30+ years ago.
The only negative is the driver side header is not clearing the steering shaft. I will be trying the easiest suggestion which is loosening the shaft anchor bolts and trying to move the shaft away from the header.

Yes, I would recommend this item to a friend!
