M-18000-C Adjustable Struts & Shocks

The reference for this review is a 2014 GT with Brembo suspension. The Brembo suspension is roughly 10% firmer than base. In stock form, my car was skittish on curves with rough pavement making the live axle clearly evident. This package together with Ford camber bolts and the alignment set to the Boss 302 specs transformed the handling. It is much more european feeling and one would be hard pressed to identify a live axle set up. It is much more well controlled on higher speed bumpy curves and has much less brake dive. Turn in is excellent as well as straight line tracking. This is with - 1.05 degrees negative camber and 0.20 degrees total toe in. With the dampers set on full soft, the ride is noticeably more firm than the stock Brembo suspension, but not harsh on highway expansion joints. Ambient temps at about 40 degrees F - it will be softer when it warms up. Rear axle was off center about 1/4 inch and corrected with a Steeda adjustable panhard rod.
Now the caveat. If you are going to do this, do it right. I ended up with - 2.5 to - 3.0 degrees negative camber. To correct this I removed the new struts and elongated the lower hole with a die grinder per the FRPP instructions. Adding the 05-14 Ford Mustang camber bolts added $180 to the cost and was more work. I should have done this first and only once. Ford camber bolts are heavy duty and safe in my opinion in contrast to some other aftermarket camber bolts. Another solution is to face up to the cost and purchase Steeda or similar camber plates and install them with the struts.
Bottom line, this is a vast improvement in handling and feels like a much more sophisticated suspension. But surely, this is the result of strut mounts, springs and dampers engineered to work together as a system and the ability to precisely adjust the camber and toe in to the Boss 302 specs. This system improves the car as a daily driver (summer) and will substantially improve handling on the track - the sole purpose of this upgrade.
