I reviewed many exhaust systems for my 2016 gt. After hearing sound clips from pretty much every available catback on the market, I chose to go with this one. Here is why. 1- my previous car (2013 gt) had a pypes super system cat back. Al though city driving sounded great, it was a little too loud for my liking. Also there was considerable drone on the freeway.
Those where things I was looking to avoid when purchasing a system for my 2016 gt.
2 The MRT system has little to no drone. It is only when you initially hit sixth at around 70 or so mph. It dissappears at steady rpm.
3 This system sounds great. It is the perfect tone, and the perfect volume. It is loud but not obnoxious. Under normal driving conditions it is perfect. Under a heavy foot it can be very loud but still maintains good tone. The H Pipe give it a good low rumble on deceleration. The system is not raspy or poppy.
The low classic tone is probably what has sold me the most on this system.
4 I was looking for a system that I knew was loud, but wasn't too loud in the interior of the car. Windows down it is great. Windows up it is still great, especially during acceleration. When you hit a steady rpm it isn't too loud. This is exactly what I was looking for. On my 13 the interior noise on the freeway was so bad that I couldn't use my Bluetooth because no one could hear me on the other end.
On the other hand the MRT system does not effect it what so ever.
I give this 4 out of five. I give the system itself a 5. It is everything I was looking for and I would highly recommend it.
The quality is great, you definitely get what you pay for.
Install took me around an hour and a half by myself. Although I would highly recommend a extra hand. Fitment is great, everything lines up perfectly. Take your time when it comes to this.
The 4 is only because of the packaging. 2 of the mating ends had flat spots due to poor packaging. So I had to bang those out to mate the pipes. Not hard or too much of a big deal, but for a $1400 system I just expected a little better quality control in the packaging.
