 What's in the Box

  • (1) Front SLA Suspension System

Ridetech Front SLA Suspension System
Optimize the front suspension of your 1979-1993 Fox Body Mustang and hit the track or street with confidence using Ridetech's SLA (short-long arm) suspension system! Completely replacing the factory McPherson strut design with a more modern SLA (also known as a double wishbone) suspension design greatly improves suspension geometry. The factory strut design offers very little camber gain and poor overall handling characteristics. With an SLA suspension, the tire is positioned perpendicular to the tarmac through the turns thanks to this design's improved negative camber gain, which eliminates the requirement for high static camber and excessively stiff spring rates. Improve the front suspension of your timeless Fox Body Mustang with Ridetech’s highly engineered SLA (short-long arm) system.

What is an SLA Suspension (short long arms suspension)?
A double wishbone suspension is another name for a short-long arms suspension or SLA. The term "short long arm" refers to the fact that the upper A-arm is shorter than the lower A-arm. For the best handling, SLA, or double wishbone suspension systems,  are more performance-driven vehicles such as sports cars and other high-performance vehicles.

Ridetech Engineering
This bolt-in SLA (Short-Long-Arm) suspension system replaces the stock McPherson strut design with a billet aluminum upper control arm, tubular lower arm, and spindles with S550 Mustang hubs utilizing the stock K-member. Caster, roll center, and Ackerman angles were also optimized for greatly increased handling. Bolt-in frame surrounds provide connection points for the shocks and upper control arms, keeping the load on the frame rails for optimal strength and less noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). The double a-arm architecture induces much-needed negative camber gain during upward travel. Billet aluminum upper controls and tig welded tubular control arms feature Delrin bushings infused with Teflon, eliminating the need for lubrication for the life of the bushings. Lower control arm design improves tire clearance and steering angle, 30 degrees with up to a 275mm wide tire. The custom front spindles use Moog S550 Mustang rear wheels hubs for straightforward installation, easy maintenance, and maximum strength. Spindles are designed with the intention of bolt-on brake caliper brackets (sold separately) giving you the choice to run SN95 or S550 Mustang brake setups. SLA system is compatible with either Ridetech Coil-Overs or Shockwave air suspension kits only (sold separately).

About This Brand

Ridetech
Ridetech started in 1996 with a vision of building a better lowered car. Using air suspension to accomplish the task, our reputation as innovators, problem solvers, and just good folks to deal with, helped them grow quickly. To Ridetech, Hot Rodding means you can always do better and “no” is never an acceptable answer.

Being a Hot Rodder is more than parts and problem solving, if you are one too, then you already know what they mean. It is a lifestyle and a passion, and it is built on sharing with friends. Being a Hot Rodder means you never enter any town as a stranger, you always have fellow enthusiast to sit down with and feel at home. This is why they spend so much of their time and resources on attending events, they want to meet you and hear about your story – even if you aren’t a customer, even if you buy someone else’s product…

Their approach to problem solving, “can-do” perspective and relationship driven business tactics have provided openings into many areas of business including agriculture, commercial transport and defense projects as well… but at the core, they remain true to who they are – they are Hot Rodders.
