1979-1986 Headlight Kit
Is it time to update the front end of your 4-eyed 1979-1986 Fox Body Mustang? Have your lights faded over the years and made it hard for you to see at night? Replace your worn out lights today with this composite replacement headlight kit. This kit is plug and play and comes with an H4 style bulb. This headlight kit is now a serviceable kit and replaces the stock sealed units! This kit is sold as a pair. You will need 2 kits for all 4 headlights.
- Fits 1979-1986 Mustang
These lights are approved and DOT Compliant for legal street use.
Great price, but a long way from plug and play - the headlight cavity needs to modified to enable this new light assembly to fit into the cavity and the head light retainer for clamp the light properly back into its original position.
You will need spade clips (male end's about 10) to adapt the light socket to your cars factory socket. The for the inner light a jumper wire will be needed to supply current for the low beam connection (runs from the out side light to the inner light.
I noticed one light had a serious defect, and the other 3 lights had a blue light connection with 2 wires and all had the wire connection were bare so called and problem was resolved over the phone to my satisfaction.

Not Plug and Play by any means, but looks good.

I was looking to upgrade the look and headlights for my 84 mustang. These are by no means plug and play, you will spend a full day installing all 4 headlights. I'll upload better pics once the cars off the stands and out of the garage. THE GOOD: The look really cleans up the front of the car. I was reluctant about the look once I received them but found a pic of an 84 T-bird that had them installed. Easy enough to splice the new plug into the old one - I solder all connections instead of wire connectors. THE BAD: I could do without the additional small blue bulb at the bottom, but you don't really see it once installed. Additional tool needed will be an Air Grinder and Carbide Bits. There is a lot of material that needs to be removed so they will fit, especially around the extra blue bulb. One of the lenses was off center from the housing and needed to be ground down before the chrome ring would fit over the lens. Also the four tabs on the rear housing of the headlights will need to be ground down so it will fit flush once installed. Lastly, the rubber cover that "seals" the back of the headlight is questionable if it really will keep out water over a period of years. If LMR is listening, would like to see a higher quality lens kit for these 4 eyed foxes, without the extra blue light, and one that seals better. I would pay 24.99 each per lens. However, the style is just about perfect.
Yes, I would recommend this item to a friend!
