Version 3 Shifter Support Kit!
Blowfish Racing has updated the design of this kit to make installation easier than ever! Blowfish includes a new lower bracket that has gussets for better oxygen sensor clearance on X-Pipes. A new single piece upper bracket means no guess work on assembly. This new layout places the clamp behind the bracket assembly to make final adjustments quicker than ever!

Blowfish Racing Shifter Bracket
If you're experiencing all of the negative effects from the design of the MT82 shifter; then take a look at Blowfish Racing's shifter support bracket. The factory MT82 shifter is in a bit of a remote location which leads to missed shifts, high RPM lockout, and grinding gears. Blowfish Racing stepped up and designed this shifter support bracket for factory and most aftermarket shifters. This support bracket provides a solid foundation to create a dramatically improved driving experience.

High Quality Engineering
The factory shifter is connected to a body mount, which causes the shifter to twist under load. The Blowfish Racing shifter support bracket removes the body mount and is then attached as a support link from the back of the shifter to the transmission. This keeps the shifter and transmission in line at all times for precise shifts every time.

Driveshaft Safety Loop
The shifter support bracket connects the shifter to the transmission. In this design it creates a "loop" around the driveshaft. This eliminates the need for any other aftermarket drive shaft loop as this design is an NHRA approved driveshaft loop! This will ensure a safety net in case your u-joint fails and will protect your floor pan and driveshaft tunnel from damage.

    5 Stars   Blowfish Support Bracket for the M82

    I have mine installed and wished I had it 3 years ago. The MGW shifter helped but didn't solve the high RPM lockout that happens to all I've talked to. This unit has solved the issue and has virtually no noise through it. I'm really stodked. Now I can shift my '13 Boss like it should when I have the urge.

    Image uploaded by Jens D. I have installed this on a 13 Boss 302 prior to purchasing it for my 14 Roush stage 2. I knew it was a great piece. So I purchased it for my Mustang when I was installing an aluminum driveshaft from Ford Racing. Install was easy and straight forward. My car already had a Ford Racing shifter and all the parts I needed were in the box to complete the install. It shifts better then ever before as I expected from the previous experience with the product. The shifter mount(s) was different from the previous one I installed. The shifter has a buzz/rattle at 3200 to 3500 rpm that I did not have in the Boss. Both cars have the same shifter in them. The shifter mount that was in the box used for the Boss 302 was like the one illustrated in the instructions. It is a solid mount design unlike the one that came with the brackets that came with the one I purchased. I suspect it is the rubber o-ring design that came with what was sent to me. Yes I would recommend this product. However if using a Ford Racing shifter or a Barton shifter I would want the solid mount design bracket.

    It's amazing to experience just how much this bracket improves the feel of the stock shifter. I no longer have the 1-2 nibble, even when cold, and though there is slight vibration through the shift ball, I love it! It feels to me like it should, very much like the feel through the shifter of my C6 Corvette. My bracket is the V2 "Street" version with the elastomers on the upper bracket, and I have zero rattles from the shifter all the way up to redline. I may add a short shifter in the future, but the improvement through all the gates is so pronounced at this point I just don't see the need.

    Installation was straightforward. Install would be easier with the driveshaft out, but it was doable. Lots of shifter vibration now compared to a body mounted bracket, but neglegable when compared to the benefit of a solid shift. Overall, awesome product and very hig quality.

    To be clear, this is a review for the V3 bracket (some reviews on older versions seemed to be mixed into the V3 reviews.) Before I review, please take note of the cars current mods as this plays into my review. Car has UPR adjustable motor mounts, whiteline transmission mount (with the hole mod), barton short throw shifter, steel clutch line, 85mm throttle body and blackout cold air from BBK, off road 3" SVE X-pipe, and MBRB 3" race series catback - also the car is a 5.0. With that being said, here are my reviews for increased NVH: N - 0/5, V - 4/5, H - 0/5. Needless to say, this increase did not bother me at all. Like others said, I actually enjoy the increase in vibration while holding the shifter - gave me a better connection to the engine torque similar to the aftermarket motor mounts. Now for the actual meat of the review... Before the mount, I would be locked out of 3rd gear maybe 50% of the time if shifting above 6k ish rpm. This drove me crazy as my goal for the car was to be a higher rpm/hp setup instead of a low end torque setup. I assumed it was just me not nailing the shift, but the bracket made this completely go away with my same shifting techniques. The bracket was totally worth it. It did slightly improve my 1st to 2nd shift notchiness, but the biggest thing this bracket does is realign 2nd to 3rd under torque. Installation wasn't bad - about 3 hours total while working on jack stands. By the way, some reviews that claim this bracket rattles clearly did not install correctly (or they are reviewing older versions.) I experienced no rattling at all rpms. Just be sure to follow directions and use some common sense while tightening all the bolts to be sure no part of the bracket can collide with your frame after the bolts are tight. This bracket is awesome for the money - highly recommend.

    I bought the v2 version back on 1/7/2016. I don't think that I got it installed till last March or May. Shipping was delayed. I finally had to message customer service. I never got a response, but it did finally show up. Maybe it was because I bought it with a coupon.

    I have a Phase 1 Roush supercharged 2014 Mustang GT with track package. And since brand new, I would get a 1st to 2nd nibble during the freezing winters immediately after cold start for the first few shifts, even while double clutching. Plus under torque, I often could not shift the car from 2nd to 3rd or from 3rd to 4th. I either would end up going to another gear or just get locked out. Under normal driving, everything shifted wonderfully though.

    After installation, I have never missed a shift. And the 1st to 2nd nibble in the freezing cold is gone when I double clutch the first couple times after cold start. After that it shifts fine.

    I kept the stock shifter to keep things inexpensive and minimize NVH. I get a slight rattle in the mid to high RPMs from under the dash in front of the shifter. And I do feel a vibration on the shifter when I place my had on it. Plus, the feel of the shifter changed dramatically. It feels much more mechanical now. The stock mounting bracket felt more modern and precise while parked. However, I found out the feeling of precision was fake while driving the car spiritedly. Now my car shifts with real precision.

    Mechanical, precise and rugged is how I would describe it now.

    I want a shorter throw than stock but decided against a short throw shifter because I was worried about too much NVH. I took one star off for the slight increase in NVH and slight delay in shipping.

    Got lucky about 5 months ago and found a 2011 GT/CS with only 7900 miles on it. Installed bracket a couple weeks ago in my driveway on jackstands.(which I wouldn't say was easy but only took about an hour) The shifts feel much more solid and precise. Also, the vibration through the shift knob feels great. There is a rattle in 2nd gear around 3 or 4k rpms but only in the first few minutes of driving untill the trans warms up. I feel much more connected to the vehicle and haven't missed a shift since. As always, LMR ships quick and has the best prices.

    Saw a review that the Barton and Whiteline insert is just as good and you cant tell a difference between the BF bracket and the shifter/bushing. This is far from the truth. I had a Barton 2 post/shifter combo and whiteline insert. Changed out to the BF bracket and there is a difference. Shifts are even more direct and shifter is tighter. Don't hesitate, just buy.

    I've had this on for a few days and so far so good! I have version 3 and it is fairly quiet with little NVH. Works well with Mcleod stainless clutch line, Whiteline bushing insert and Barton shifter. Sold my Barton one piece bracket and made 25% of purchase price for the Blowfish!

    However, the m6 bolts they supplied were to short. Had to go buy longer ones.

    At $250 I expected more. The Barton shifter I have, rattles at any RPM above 2,000. Did not fix my 1-2 nibble like I hoped and can honestly say that the Whiteline bushing and Barton bracket are comparable to this bracket and have zero shifter rattle. My car sounds like a POS because of this thing and I have to grab the shifter and squeeze to stop the BZZZZZZZZ! If you already have the Barton bracket and a Whiteline bushing, save your money! I've tried lowering and raising the bracket, and changing the position of the shifter on the support, but nothing has helped. I gave it two stars because its really nice quality and a great idea, but the function of this unit falls short for me.
