Steeda Adjustable Heavy Duty Motor Mounts
These Steeda Adjustable Heavy Duty Motor Mounts for your 2005-2014 Mustang are a direct replacement for your factory motor mounts. Along with being a lot more durable than factory mounts, the engine mounts from Steeda allow adjustability from factory height up to 3/4" lower to create extra room for superchargers, and strut tower braces. These Steeda Adjustable Motor Mounts also include dual durometer bushing packages. Choosing the softer red bushings will give you great control with only minimal increase in engine vibration. Choosing the hard black bushings will provide maximum control, but will also increase vibration from the engine significantly. The black bushings are highly recommended for competition use only!
These adjustable motor mounts are designed to work with 2005-2014 Mustang GT/Bullitt/Boss with manual, and automatic transmissions.
Installed these motor mounts along with the Steeda tranny bushing for my 14' GT. World of difference is feel, shifting predicatbility and lack of motor movement. Installation on my year required a large swear jar :-). Near worthless instructions for my year. Other years sound like stock mounts come out much easier. I had the car on a mid-rise lift and tranny mount center nuts removed. Started on drivers side. Had to decouple steering shaft (just remove bottom bolt and the two nuts under the steering wheel inside car so you can pull the shaft up an out of the way. Removed all 3 motor mount bolts/nuts from only driver side and jacked up motor using a bottle jack and piece of wood on the side of the bell housing (theres a spot that looks like you should place the jack). This allows the motor to pivot out of the way a bit to make room for removal. I tried everything to just remove it with no luck. Ended up just cutting the top stud with an extended reach 3inch cut-off saw ($30 harbor freight tool). Once cut it removes easily and install of the new one is even easier. I installed only 1 of the black "race" bushings on the bottom of the driver side mount, thinking that one will see most of its pressure only when I'm on the gas. I left both top and bottom bushings on the passenger side red. Tighten the side bolts fully and only partially thread the top bolt on the drivers side so that it can pivot when your jacking up the passenger side. I also had to partially cut the stud on the passenger side and used a small screwdriver stuck into one of the flange holes to bend the mount out (didn't take much pressure). It looks and feels awesome. I have a stock manifold, but dropping it 1/2" it looks even lower. I could have dropped it 3/4", but glad I didn't since it looks like my stock CAI is resting on the radiator shroud. No rattles or squeaks though. Overall very happy with the upgrade. Thank you Steeda and LMR!
