What’s up fellas? Landan here with LMR.com and today this video will cover my quick rundown on Team Z Motorsports tubular rear lower control arms fitting the 1999 to 2004 solid axle Mustangs.
Team Z Motorsports has researched and developed a variety of top notch suspension components for the Mustang. Their precise attention to detail and expert craftsmanship allows for some of the best suspension parts available in the Mustang market.
Team Z’s tubular rear lower control arms are a perfect option for the street and strip enthusiast. These lower control arms are manufactured from 4130 chrome-moly steel, tig welded, and features a durable black hammertone powder coated finish. It also sports a 4130 hiem joint with Kevlar, nylon race. The mounting points utilize spherical bushings to eliminate any deflection caused from acceleration.
These rear lower control arms are available with sway bay mounts and without. It utilizes a spring perch that is in the same location as the factory arms, so you can run a variety of different lowering springs. They are also double adjustable to maximize traction and to properly set pinion angle depending on your set up. If any of you 1979 to 1998 owners are watching, these are available for your application as well, but are different part numbers since those cars utilized an M12 bolt.
As far as installation is concerned, there isn’t a secret at all when it comes to rear lower control arms. Simply support the rear end with a jack and remove the lower shock hardware. Allow the arm to come down and then remove the rear spring. Remove the control arm hardware and then use this as a measuring tool for the adjustable Team Z control arm. Set the Team Z arm center to center with the factory. Install the Team Z lower control arm, position the spring, and then reinstall the lower shock hardware. Now you can use this time to measure pinon angle and adjust accordingly.
Our very own Project Green Bean features these Team Z double adjustable rear lower control arms which help cut down on weight and should drop sixty foot times. For more info on that, check out stage 3 of our build.
