What’s up everybody? Landan here with LMR.com and today this video is going to cover my detailed breakdown on Team Z’s tubular front suspension components fitting your 94-04 SN95 based Mustang.
Team Z Motorsports has researched and developed a variety of top notch suspension components for the Mustang. Their precise attention to detail and expert craftsmanship allows for some of the best suspension parts available in the Mustang market.
If you’re wanting to put your Mustang on a serious diet and improve performance, then a tubular K-member kit from Team Z needs to be on your list. And when I say diet guys, I really mean it. A full k-member kit from Team Z can shed a total of, get this, seventy pounds off of the front of your Mustang!
Each Team Z K-member kit will come complete with a tubular K-member, tubular lower control arms, and the needed coil over hardware. The tubular k-member is made from a Matrix steel that combines the strength of steel and weight savings of chrome-moly. It is then finished off in the popular black hammertone finish.
The tubular control arms are built from chrome-moly to save even more weight and take the abuse of daily driving or racing. Like the K-member, they are finished off with the same black hammertone finish.
Topping off the kit, you get a very nice coil over kit that includes all of the needed hardware for you to utilize Strange, Koni, Tokico, Lakewood, or KYB struts. Since this does convert the front of your Mustang to a coil over setup, you will need to pick up a spherical bearing style caster/camber plate such as our SVE caster/camber plates.
Further parts that will be needed when going this route is a quality bump steer kit to properly correct the suspension geometry and any of you guys that will still be running a power steering rack, offset steering rack bushings will be needed to allow additional clearance of the oil pan.
Several kits are available from Team Z with different engine applications, such as push rod or mod motor, spring rates and spring length. Of course softer spring rates are intended for cars that do not see a lot of street duty. Whereas, firmer springs are for those of you that will drive more on the street than at the track.
Recently, our very own Project Green Bean was outfitted with a Team Z tubular k-member kit which will covered in a later installment of the build.
