Whether you are looking for direct replacement or performance parts for your 2003 Mustang, LMR has just what you need to get the job done.
The 2003 Cobra debuted in Spring of 2002, with significantly increased power and handling. The new version of the Cobra had the T56 6-speed transmission, and the 4.6L DOHC V-8 engine was supercharged. The total power was rated at 390 horsepower. However, multiple publications have performed dyno tests on Cobras that produced rear-wheel power in excess of 380 hp, suggesting closer to 450 hp. The 2003 Cobra 'Stang was capable of mid-12-second quarter-mile times straight from the factory.
The popular "Mach 1" nameplate returned in 2003 with a non-supercharged version of the Cobra V-8 engine, rated at 305 hp. Other unique features included a "retro" themed interior with seats that mimicked the original Mach 1 seats, retro gauges, and aluminum pedals and shifter. The exterior was given a stripe and a black spoiler to match the original, as well as a "Shaker" hood scoop. The scoop was functional, attached to the engine - unlike the mock scoops on the standard 'Stang. Because of the revised heads, and increased compression (not to mention the ram-air scoop), the Mach 1 even out-performed the Cobra, being capable of low 13-second quarter-mile times.
