Harvey J Crane Jr, founder of Crane Cams, started his passion in 1953 when he ground his first cam in his father's machine shop. After building and testing his custom cams, local hot rod shops noticed the potential of his camshafts. By the late 1950's he had a loyal following in the Southeast. In 1961, Pete Robinson put Crane Cams in the spotlight when he won Top Eliminator honors at the NHRA nationals. In the following years, Crane made great advances in his camshaft building, utilizing computers to make more efficient and more accurate components that help improve his business. Crane Cams has become an industry leader in performance in the automotive world and provides racers and street rodders with the parts they need to give them the edge over the competition.
