If you have never been able to enjoy a hood that essentially raises itself and you own a mustang, now is the time to do so! No one wants to deal with a clumsy prop rod! SVE Hood struts are one of the easiest, most budget friendly purchases that you can make to add a nice addition to your 2005-2014 Ford Mustang.

Included in the box is the set of struts, the mounting brackets, and the installation instructions. We offer the SVE Hood Struts in two colors: Chrome/Satin and Black! These hood struts are a direct bolt on. No drilling is required whatsoever, and can be installed in less than 20 minutes! Don't take my word for it though, take a look at what one of our customers Kaden Green had to say!

"This past weekend I picked up a set of SVE Hood Struts from Tyler. Saturday evening I installed them on my car, followed by the hood being up for 5 hours the next day at a show -- in windy circumstances. Needless to say, I'm impressed.

Review on product: 10/10. Very happy with the easy install! It took me approximately 15-30 minutes from complete start to finish. I love the quality of the item.

Installation difficulty: Easy. I used one other person due to install on a steep incline. Other than that, this is easily a one man job.

Tools needed:

Flat-Head screw driver, ratchet w/ extensions, and 10mm & 13mm sockets.

Mustang Hood Strut Installation:

Prior to installing on some 2010+ mustangs, you need to relocate the sound tube canister following the packaged instructions. However on mine, I did not need to, seeing as it was not in the way.

  1. Using the prop rod, prop your hood open and remove the fender bolt on the passenger side.
  2. Install the bracket marked "P-L" using factory fender bolt on passenger side.
  3. Making sure the hood is properly supported by the prop rod, remove the forward most bolt on the hood hinge.
  4. Loosen the rear most bolt on the hood hinge just enough to slide the larger bracket marked "P-U" in between the hood hinge and bolt as shown. DO NOT slide the bracket between the hinge and the hood, it MUST be on the outer side of the hinge, tighten rear bolt and reinstall front bolt to secure bracket.

  5. Once the bracket is firmly secured to the hood hinge, install the gas strut by removing the clips on both ends, popping the ends over the ball mounts on the brackets, and reinstalling the clips as shown.

  6. Repeat the previous steps for the drivers side to complete the installation.
  7. Slowly lower the hood while checking alignment with fenders and bumper. DO NOT slam the hood shut until proper alignment has been confirmed.

At this point, you may remove the factory prop rod and enjoy your new SVE Hood Struts."
