Fox Body Mustang LED Headlight Kit

LED bulb technology has recently taken the automotive world by storm! LED bulbs emit a more pure, white light; instead of that dull, yellowish look you’re used to seeing from your factory halogen bulbs! LED bulbs have excellent heat dissipation, so you don’t have to worry about a bulb potentially melting or burning any of your lenses.

Our LED headlight conversion kit will be a direct plug-n-play, feature high and low beam, and have a color temperature of six thousand kelvins; which is a bright white.

Now, let’s go ahead and show you how to install our LED headlight conversion kit into this 1990 Fox Body Mustang!

Start by disconnecting your negative battery cable. Removal of the bulb and bulb retainer is optional. On the passenger side, disconnect your headlight and remove the 3 headlight retaining nuts. Carefully slide the headlight away from the header panel and set it aside. Remove your headlight bulb retainer and measure 7/8 of an inch from the end with the locking tabs. Mark the spot and begin cutting the bulb retainer with a hobby saw. Once you make your cut, sand down any rough spots and any extra plastic.

Remove the LED headlight bulb retainer from the base of the light. With the locking tabs on the factory retainer facing down, slide it over the LED headlight. Align the LED bulb retainer with the small plastic tabs on the factory retainer. Carefully position the LED headlight bulb into the headlight and lock the factory retainer. Plug in the LED ballast to the factory headlight connection. Clean the ballast and an area behind the headlight with denatured alcohol and apply quality double sided tape to the ballast.

Double sided tape is not included and is optional. Peel the tape backing and stick the ballast in a desired location. Slide your headlight back into place and connect the LED headlight bulb to the LED ballast. At this point, reconnect your negative battery cable and power on the lights. Make sure all of the lights power up. If the side marker or park light bulbs do not power on, simply remove and rotate and bulb. Secure the headlight with the previously removed headlight nuts.

Do the same for the other side, and you're all finished!
Installation should take you about thirty minutes to complete and all you need is common hand tools and some double-sided tape.
