Adding performance to your five liter fuel-injected Mustang is as simple as adding a SVE Top End Kit. It includes all of your typical top end components, from intake, to cam, to cylinder heads, rocker arms, and a few other needed components. It's intended to fit '89 to '95 mass-air equipped Mustangs, or '86 to '88 five liter Mustangs equipped with a mass-air conversion.
Let's dig a little deeper into the components of the kit. Starting out with the intake manifold, it's a cast aluminum, performance-oriented piece that is based on the original Edelbrock Performer intake design. It has a removable plenum cover; that way you can access the entire upper intake. You can do your own porting or send it off to have it ported for even more power gains.
It has a sixty five or seventy millimeter throttle body and EGR spacer which will bolt directly to the included intake manifold. It includes the upper to lower intake gasket and all the needed bolts to attach the upper intake to the lower intake. You will need to reuse your lower intake attaching bolts. We do include new intake to cylinder head gaskets.
The camshaft is a Trickflow stage 1 featuring 221 degrees of intake duration at .050" (50 thousandths) lift, 225 degrees of duration at .050" (50 thousandths) lift on the exhaust side. Lift numbers come in it .499 on the intake and .510 on the exhaust. These numbers are with 1.6 ratio Roller Rockers.
Speaking of rocker arms, we do include nice, cast aluminum, gold anodized 3/8" stud mount, 1.6 ratio Roller Rocker arms, which are a perfect match with our SVE cylinder heads. We also include a set of hardened Ford Racing pushrods to get the motions from the lifters to the rocker arms.
To finish off the good looks of our SVE top end kit and cover up the valve train, we include a set of polished Cast Aluminum Valve Covers. The star of the top-end kit is our SVE Aluminum Cylinder Heads. Featuring 170cc intake runner, with 2.02/1.60 valves and have valve springs that are rated up to .550 lift or with a hydraulic roller camshaft.
The combustion chamber volume is 60ccs. And they do have a 1/2" head bolt hole, so we do include reducer washers along with some new ARP head bolts to attach them to your engine.
They are also drilled for all factory accessories, so you're not going to have any issues reattaching your front accessory drive.
To round out the kit, we added a few more necessary components like one-piece Valve Cover Gaskets, timing cover gasket kit, double roller timing chain, exhaust manifold gaskets, and cylinder head gaskets.
