KONI WARRANTY
PASSENGER CAR, LIGHT TRUCK & MOTORHOME: The KONI warranty is to the original purchaser against defects in materials or workmanship for as long as you own that car (registered for street use) during the applicable warranty period of two years. The warranty does not cover damage to the parts caused by misuse, misapplication, wrong installation, etc. KONI North America LLC warrants all new KONI shock absorbers (purchased after 5/1/1980) and suspension kits (purchased after 1/1/1995) to the original retail purchaser for use in the United States and Canada against defects in materials and workmanship, excluding mounting hardware and bushings, when used under normal operating conditions for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle registered for street use on which the KONI shock absorbers were originally installed. This warranty does not apply to, and KONI makes no warranty for, shock absorbers and suspension kits that have been:
- Not purchased new by the current owner.
- Modified or installed improperly.
- Bent or broken indicating abuse.
- Supplied as Original Equipment on any vehicle except 1984-1986 Ford Mustang SVO.
- Used on any vehicle that has been modified for a use other than or in addition to its originally intended use.
- Used for an application that is not specified in the KONI literature.
- Used on any vehicle for racing, off-road, or other driving competition.
- Exported for use outside the United States and Canada.
In the event of defect, malfunction, or failure of the KONI shock absorbers to conform to this warranty, the original purchaser must follow the warranty procedures listed on the KONI North America LLC web site. Upon verification, KONI North America LLC, or its servicing organization, will repair or replace the shock absorbers at no cost to the original user. KONI North America LLC will not pay for the cost of the installation of the new or repaired shock absorbers. The cost of postage and return shipping shall be prepaid by the original purchaser.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
This warranty is limited solely to the above. Any warranties implied by state law will apply only for the term stated above. Koni North America LLC will not be liable for any loss, damage, incidental or consequential damages of any kind whether based upon warranty, contract or negligence and arising in connection with the sale, use, or repair of the product. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damage so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. Unless otherwise contrary to State law governing the purchase, Koni North America LL's Liability shall not, in any case, exceed the contract or sale price for the product claimed to be defective or unsuitable. This warranty is applicable in the USA and Canada only.
HOW TO OBTAIN KONI WARRANTY
(You Must Have Authorization Prior To Returning Products) Koni Warranty covers factory defects to the original retail purchaser of the dampers purchased after May 1, 1980, and suspension kits purchased after 1995. It does not cover worn bushings, shocks installed on a modified chassis or springs sold with kits. Warranty is not transferable. All replacements are new dampers from stock unless notified as such. Forward below documents to receive a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number:
- Copy of proof of purchase (dated after May, 1980)
- Current vehicle registration.
- Completed copy of Warranty Request Form
The Mustang SVO is the only vehicle with a lifetime warranty to the original owner, proof of vehicle purchase is required in addition to current vehicle registration.
At your discretion, you can either send your units in for evaluation and have them replaced or request replacements in advance at half of listed “Retail Price”. If replacements are made in advance KONI will charge your credit card prior to shipment and refund the purchase price after the units have been accepted as a warranty. If the units are not accepted as a warranty the returned product will be returned to you and the charges will remain on your credit card.
