OBS Bronco Exhaust

During its run, the OBS Bronco was powered by three engines: 4.9L inline six-cylinder, 5.0L V8, and 5.8L V8 engines. The 5th generation Bronco’s exhaust was not designed for performance, and the overall exhaust tone from the factory left a lot to be desired, even with the V8 engines. An aftermarket exhaust system is a great way not only to gain some horsepower from the restrictive factory exhaust but also a great way to restore an old rusted exhaust system. Late Model Restoration carries a complete line of restoration and performance exhaust parts from your favorite brands, such as BBK, Ford Performance, and more. So whether you are looking to replace some exhaust accessories or a set of headers, we have you covered.

What are the best OBS Bronco exhaust upgrades?

Most factory exhaust piping and bends were not mandrel bent and restricted flow. Also, catalytic converter and muffler technology in the early 1990s were not what it is today. Combine these setbacks with a factory exhaust system over 20 years old, and you will have plenty of reasons to upgrade.

If you want to upgrade for performance gains, replacing the restrictive factory exhaust manifold with a set of headers and ditching factory mufflers is a great place to start. Going with a cat-back exhaust system with mandrel bends and quality tubing, such as stainless steel, can further improve the exhaust flow and horsepower. Lastly, if you have clogged catalytic converters, this is an excellent chance to replace them. With any exhaust upgrades, always be sure to follow your local exhaust laws and regulations. If you want to restore your OBS Bronco’s exhaust system, some of the most popular upgrades include replacing worn exhaust manifolds, bolts, and gaskets. Due to the age and the Bronco being taken off-road, these vehicles can have rusted or damaged exhaust piping. In these cases, you may have to pick up an aftermarket exhaust system or try to have a local exhaust shop rebuild some of the systems.

No matter what direction you go, Late Model Restoration will be there to help you complete your Bronco project!
