1992-1996 Ford OBS Bronco & Truck: HVAC Control Fix/Repair Bracket

• 1992-1996 Bronco HVAC Control Reinforcement Bracket Kit

• Phillips Head Screwdriver
• Trim Panel Removal Tool
• T20 Torx Driver or a 7mm Socket/Socket Wrench
• Small Flathead Screwdriver

Step 1: Remove Dash Applique Trim

• Begin by carefully removing the dash applique trim. This delicate trim is held in place by retainers.
• Gently work your fingers behind the trim to release it from the dash.
• If needed, use a plastic pry tool to avoid damage.
• Note: Be cautious as the trim may have clips that can break during removal.

Step 2: Remove Screws Holding HVAC Controls

• Once the trim is off, locate the screws holding the HVAC controls.
• Use a T20 Torx driver or a 7mm socket to remove these screws.
• Take note of any broken or missing pieces, especially in the trim surrounding the controls.

Step 3: Detach HVAC Control Panel

• Carefully pull the HVAC control panel out towards you.
• Start with the center control, which may have a tab holding it in place.
• Use a small flathead screwdriver to lift the tab and release the control.
• Be cautious of other connections, such as those for fan speed and blend door settings.
• Note: Clean the exposed areas to remove dirt and dust.
• Inspect the control panel for any broken or damaged components, such as broken tabs or connectors.

Step 4: Install Repair Bracket

• Position the repair bracket into place, aligning it with the openings on either side of the dash.
• Use the provided screws to secure the repair bracket in place.
• Ensure proper alignment by using at least one screw as a reference.

Step 5: Secure Repair Bracket

• Use self-tapping screws to secure the repair bracket to the dash.
• Tighten the screws, but avoid overtightening to prevent damage.
• Remove alignment screws

Step 6: Reassemble Dashboard

• Reinstall any removed components, such as trim and applique.
• Secure them with the appropriate screws.
• Ensure all connections are secure and properly aligned.

Step 7: Final Adjustments

• Tighten all screws once they are properly aligned.
• Conduct a final check to ensure all components are securely in place.
• Congratulations! You have successfully repaired the HVAC controls on your dashboard.
