This transmission cooling scoop was designed to mimic the factory-installed scoop on the Boss 302 Laguna Seca. This is an easy, inexpensive solution to reduce transmission fluid temperatures, all while retaining the functionality of the factory control arm brace. This scoop is powder-coated black, and the factory hardware is reused. Follow along with the steps below to show you how simple this is to install on your S197 chassis!


Tools Needed

  • Jack & Jack Stands
  • Microfiber Towels & All-purpose Cleaner
  • 1/2" Socket Set
  • 1/2" Torque Wrench
  • Ratching Wrench Set

2005-2014 Cooling Scoop Installation Steps

  • Support the vehicle with a lift or jack stands. Using a socket wrench with a 1/2” drive or ratchet, remove the (4) 15mm retaining nuts connecting the rear support brace to the subframe.

  • Remove the factory rear support brace from the subframe studs.

  • Align the transmission cooling scoop over the subframe studs.

  • Re-install the (4) retaining nuts onto the subframe studs and tighten them. Torque the retaining nuts to 46 lb-ft.

  • Check over your work, and you are all done!
