2015-2023 Installation Steps
- To begin, we recommend having these parts professionally painted to match the body color of your vehicle or the color of your choosing. Once you have the parts back from the paint, you can begin the general installation steps.
- Using a Scoth-brite pad, lightly scuff the backside of the part where the double-sided tape will be installed. This will allow the tape to have a rough surface to adhere to.
- Before installing the tape, make sure to clean the surface of the scoop and the glass so there are no contaminants that could cause interference with the 3M tape.
- Using one of the adhesion promotor pads, apply a thin film with the applicator onto the backside of the scoop. Allow this a few minutes to dry.
- Now install your 3M double-sided tape on the perimeter of the inner edge of the part. You can use a razor here to make any adjustments or trimming of the tape.
- Once the tape is adhered to the scoop, fold up one of the leading edges of the backing strip. Set the scoop to the glass and pull away on the backing strip. Make sure to press firmly along the edges to ensure the bond of the tape to the glass.
- Repeat these same steps for the other side and check over your work!
