Drastically increase the visibility of your reverse light with Diode Dynamics' LED bulb conversion! This is the XP80 model, which is the brightest self-contained LED bulb on the market. Each of the four sides contains three 5W-rated chips, while the top of the bulb is fitted with four more under a projector lens that evenly distributes the light. All of this is housed in an aluminum casing with a textured finish for the ultimate heat-sinking properties.

How's it going everyone? Landan with lmr.com! In this video I'll be checking out and installing Diode Dynamics LED reverse light fitting the 2015 to 2018 S550 Mustangs.
From the factory, Ford equips the S550 Mustangs with a run-of-the-mill halogen reverse light bulb.
Exterior lighting upgrades are very popular amongst all Mustang enthusiasts.
Upgrading the reverse light in the S550 cars is extremely easy thanks to industry leader Diode Dynamics.
This particular 3157 based bulb is their XP80 model and it’s a direct plug-n-play upgrade for the S550 Mustangs.
It produces a cool white light and is engineered to provide optimum light output.
The lumen output for this XP80 bulb is a very bright 510 lumens.
In the simplest of terms without getting to scientific, lumens is a measure of how bright a light is.
The lower the lumen number, the dimmer the bulb. The higher the number, the brighter the bulb.
As far as fitment is concerned, each Diode Dynamics led bulb will fit all 2015 to present Mustangs.
To replace the reverse light bulb in your Mustang, reach underneath the rear bumper and rotate the connection counter-clockwise.
Bring the connection toward you and remove the halogen bulb.
Before installing the new bulb, engage the parking brake and put the car in reverse.
Plug in your new LED bulb.
If it doesn’t light up immediately, remove it, flip the bulb around and plug it back in.
The polarity must be correct.
Align the connection with the housing and then rotate clockwise to lock it into place.
Put the transmission back in park if you have an automatic car and then you’re all finished.
Upgrading and installing a reverse light bulb in your S550 Mustang is a walk in the park guys.
With just a few minutes of your time and a few dollars spent; you can add a brighter, more focused LED to your S550 Mustang.
