JONATHAN MCDONALD: Hey everybody, JMAC here. And I'm going to show you how to remove the inner door handle on your Fox Mustang. Entirely simple, but you do have to remove your door panel to get to it. For more information on that, check out our YouTube channel or latemodelrestoration.com. Now, you want to grab your Phillips head screwdriver and remove the single Phillips head screw holding on the door handle to the door. Flat blade screwdriver and pry down on the little tabs at the front, and give it a sharp little hit, and it should break free of the door.
Now you can pull it out, lift up, and slide it off the door latch rod. Grab your new door handle, on the back side you've got the same type of attachment. You want to go ahead and slide it on to the latch rod down and go ahead and engage it in the door, line up all the tabs, slide it back, and one sharp, little hit should engage it. And then you can put your screw right back in. And that is how simple it is to change out your inner door handle, slap your door panel back on, and you're good to go. You can open your door again.
