If you plan on installing new headlights, fog lights, or bolt-on on a turbo kit to your 2005 to 2009 Mustang, all of those require you to remove your front bumper cover. Today, on this '07 Mustang, I'm going to show you just how easy it is to remove your front bumper cover.
With your hood open, start by removing the six plastic push pins from the radiator cover. Slide a flat head screwdriver underneath the recessed edge, and lift up. If that doesn't work, carefully remove the push pins with needle-nose pliers. Once removed, lift up the radiator cover and set it aside.
Next, remove the two 10-millimeter bolts that hold the bumper pillar in place. Pull the pillar up and toward the front of the car to release the top of the bumper. Next, remove the three Phillips head screws that attach the splash shield to the bumper.
Remove the push pin from the splash shield. Carefully pull the splash shield back, and remove the two bolts that hold the bumper to the bumper bracket. Do the same for the other side.
Then, pull down on the bumper to free it from the bracket. Once free, carefully move the bumper back to remove the park light and fog light connections. Remove the bumper and set it aside.
With simple hand tools and about 20 to 30 minutes of your time, you can remove your front bumper cover right there at home. For more Mustang how-tos, subscribe to our YouTube channel or check us out on the web at latemodelrestoration.com.
