5.0 Resto Windshield Weatherstrip Pair

A common problem on just about any 83-93 convertible Fox, is the weatherstripping that sits between the windshield and windshield trim. Often times it starts to sag down in the corner of the windshield from material dehydration over the years. Lucky for you, 5.0 Resto offers a high quality replacement made out of black rubber weatherstrip and is an EXACT fit for your 83-93 Fox.

A key pointer I would like to make clear, is that Ford did change the part number for the windshield weatherstrips in 1989. Therefore, resulting in two different parts for 83-88 and 89-93 cars. However, these high quality replacements from 5.0 Resto will fit all 1983-1993 Fox convertibles.

Required Tools

• Plastic Pry Tool
• Window Cleaner
• Towels
• Razor Blade

Installation Instructions

1. To begin installation, start by removing your old windshield weatherstrips.
2. Take this time to thoroughly clean the windshield and the edge of the trim where the new weatherstrip will sit.
3. Installing the new weatherstrips can be a little cumbersome since the area is fairly tight between the trim and windshield.
4. Try and find the biggest gap between the trim and windshield and start sliding the new weatherstrip into place.
5. I would recommend starting on the side of the windshield and working up to the top.
6. If it helps, carefully pry apart the new weatherstrip and keep sliding it into place.
7. A plastic pry tool will also come in handy when working the top areas.
8. Carefully slide the pry tool in-between the windshield and trim and gently push down on the tool; then slide the weather strip into the trim.
9. Keep doing this and moving the pry tool about an inch each time until you reach the center.
10. Tuck in the corner and do the same for the other side.
11. Use a razor blade to cut the weatherstrip in the middle and finish tucking it under the trim.
12. Use a pair of scissors to cut the bottom pieces right where at the bottom of the windshield and tuck it under the trim as well.
13. Give everything a quick once-over and you’re all finished!
