  1. Before removing your steering wheel, you will need to pop your hood and disconnect your negative battery cable.

  3. Located the 2 plastic plugs on each side of the steering wheel and carefully remove.

  5. Behind the plastic plugs are 2 air bag retaining 8mm bolts that will have to be removed.

  7. Bring the airbag forward and expose the back to disconnect the small electrical connections, then set the airbag aside.

  11. Now you can remove the steering wheel and be mindful not to rotate the clock spring.

  13. When reinstalling the steering wheel make sure to use a NEW 24mm steering wheel to steering shaft retaining bolt because the original bolt is torqued to yield.
  14. The new torque spec is now 41 lb/ft. When torqueing the bolt it will help if you torque into the column locks.

  16. To unlock the wheel and re-center you will simply need to insert the key and turn it to the on position (it is okay to do this since the battery is disconnected). Once centered turn the key to the off position and remove.
