*PLEASE NOTE – If you are replacing with new Aftermarket Sway Bars the retaining hardware may slightly differ. If you can’t find someone to help, we recommend using a spare floor jack to support one side of the sway bar while working on the other. We also recommend loosening the lugnuts at the beginning if you don’t have access to an impact.*



FRONT SWAY BAR REMOVAL


  1. Safely support all 4 corners of the vehicle with jack stands or a lift.

  3. Next remove all of the wheels (we started with the front but the order doesn’t matter).

  5. Loosen and remove the end link retaining nut on the passenger and driver side (these are normally 13mm nuts but it’s always good to double check).

  7. Next remove the washer and bushing, pick up the sway bar and pass over the end link.

  9. Dislodge the rearward push pin securing the frame rail splash shield to the frame rail and carefully move it to the outside of the sway bar.

  11. Now locate the pivot bushing brackets and they are located underneath the frame rail. Loosen and remove one of the bolts from each side. This hardware takes a 15mm socket.

  13. Now is a good time to have a friend hold one side and remove one of the bolts then use your free hand on the other side to remove the last bolt.

  15. Now the front sway bar can be removed!



REAR SWAY BAR REMOVAL


  1. Locate the two attaching bolts on either side of the rear lower control arm. Like the front pivot bushing bracket hardware, loosen and remove one of the bolts from either side (these also take a 15mm socket).

  3. Support the other side with your free hand, and remove the last bolt (with help from a friend of course).

  5. The rear sway bar can now be removed!
