Replace your faded, dry rotted, or worn out 2005-2009 Mustang outer door belt weatherstrip with this Ford original kit! The door belts are located on the upper part of the door at the base of the window glass. This piece runs the full length of the door & acts as both a body trim molding & a window weatherstrip, or dew wipe. Over time they become faded and the weatherstrip portion will crack. This kit includes Ford original weatherstrip to ensure your Mustang is getting the same treatment it did on the assembly line.

OUTER DOOR BELT 05-09

What’s up everyone, Jay here with LMR.com and today we will be going over the installation of the 2005-2009 outer door belt weatherstips.

The outer door belt weatherstrip on your S197 is an important part to have on your car.

If the felt is worn or missing, this can cause streaking or leave excess water behind when you roll your windows down. These also serve as the main moulding on the upper edge of the door and these become faded and scratched over the years.

LMR has you covered with these OEM Ford options. These will be the same parts that came from Ford off of the assembly line. These will feature factory felt lined rubber, and a proper black finished molding.

Lets go over to our 07 GT and show you how simple these are to go on.

First, start by rolling down both of your windows.

Next, starting at the back edge of the door, grab a hold of the molding and gently pry up.

Slowly work your way forward and once you get close to the mirror you will begin to lift up and outward to release this from the vehicle.

As you can see on our car, we had years of dirt and grime buildup under these once we had them off. Go ahead and take this time to clean this area.

Now, going back in with the new units, you will want to start by sliding the new weatherstrip in by the mirror edge.

Slowly work your way to the back edge of the door and make sure that the new weatherstirp fully seats along the upper door edge. On the back edge of the door you will find a small alignment tab and the corresponding hole this one sits into.

You can see here that the felt sat a little crooked where the inner and outer door belts meet, a simple roll up of the window will realign these back in place.

Now that this is fully seated check over your work and you are all done.

Guys, this one cannot get any easier for an install. These took less than a half an hour with cleanup time and the only tools you need are your hands and some cleaning supplies.

These new weatherstips from Ford will allow your Mustang not only to look better, but these will help you get any excess moisture off of the outside of your windows.

Coming from a fellow enthusiast, it is these little touches on your car that can drastically change the overall looks and aesthetics of your Mustang.
